I didn't face any problem while pursuing my studies as my father had enough resources that he could afford all my expenses regarding studies as well as hangouts.
But what about those young aspirants
who dream to make it big in their life, but just because of their unfavoured
circumstances they are unable to do so.
Our country is in desperate need of
such individuals who can set an epitome of their success in their respective
fields.
The need is to recognize those
talented youths and provide them with much needed platform i.e. a true fair chance to prove themselves.
1. Where do the Funds Go?
Undoubtedly, cricket is being given
much importance which though it deserves but not at the cost of other sports
and games. Are they being equally promoted? Are they being given equal
opportunities? Are all the facilities provided to them is proving to be useful?
These are some of the questions which need to be answered by government.
2. Hockey? Is it really the National Game of India?
Take example of Indian Hockey Team.
After winning any match, they must be having a proud feeling that they all are
part of such prestigious national game. But are they being provided with the
resources and recognition which they actually deserve? We all know names of all
Indian cricket team members but do we know names of all hockey team members?
Not only hockey, consider
other sports like gymnastics which is being recognized at international level.
Ironically, our Indian government is least considered about its recognition and
appraisal
3. Where are the Cash Rewards of our Players Going?
4. Exploitation of Indian Sportswoman- Shameful Thing
Once there was an article in TOI
headed “Discrimination for Indian
sportswomen at all levels” Charges of sexual harassment brought against
coach Mr. MK Kaushik by 31 members of all his Indian women hockey squad bring
out in open a badly kept secret-that Indian
sportswomen are routinely exploited.
I don’t believe this. Is this the
way how they should be treated for taking our country’s name on top?
5. Studies Or Sports?- A Professional Career or A Passionate Life?
Lack of
infrastructure, scientific training and nutritious food are the major reasons
for the poor performance of Indian sportspersons, according to Dr R Munireddy,
director of physical education, Bangalore University. Moreover, many youngsters
prefer to concentrate on studies rather than take up sports as their
professional career. There is no future security in seeing sports as a career.
So, they give in to pursue higher studies and excel in academics
There could be some ways that we can make kids to imbibe the quality of playing sports from the very beginning.
It is not lack of talent that bogs down our athletes but somewhere along the line it is lack of proper attention by authorities-in-charge and proper training that lead to poor performances in international arena.
